She/Her
Licensed Therapist, LCSW, RSW
I take a humanistic approach to therapy. In our sessions, I will hold space for you as a whole person. There's more to you than your diagnosis—that's just a small part of who you are. When I'm not doing therapy, I love to garden. Where I grew up, we were very connected to the food we ate; we knew where everything came from. It's fun to pick things out of the garden and cook them. I particularly like to grow all kinds of hot peppers.

In OCD therapy, you're purposefully engaging in things that make you uncomfortable. Be prepared for that, and be curious about that process. But be confident that if you're willing to engage, you'll see the results.
I grew up in a very small village in South America, and mental health was not something that was talked about. When I migrated to Canada as a teenager, I became aware that such services were available, and a lot of things just started clicking for me. I've always been interested in working with people and curious about human behavior. So I went into social work, which I really enjoyed. Through doing that, I realized I wanted to work more on a one-on-one, individual level.
I've had personal experience with OCD via friends and family members. I also really like ERP (exposure and response prevention)—it's structured, person-centered, and you see results in a short amount of time. We teach people how to become their own therapist and manage OCD themselves. We do more than just talk about OCD.
I also have experience treating anxiety and depression. Additionally, I do couples’ therapy, and I address a lot of cultural diversity issues, including immigration issues. I really enjoy that.
It's a little different than traditional therapy. It can be a little difficult before it becomes easier. You're purposefully engaging in things that make you uncomfortable. Be prepared for that, and be curious about that process. But be confident that if you're willing to engage, you'll see the results.
Just talk to me about that fear. We can talk about it without discussing your thoughts themselves. I've worked with people who've been keeping things to themselves, not sharing with their significant other or family members, for years. It's understandable that you would have those fears. But I can address your concerns and help you feel comfortable in sharing.

“My thoughts are none of my business”. He said he heard it on a podcast and laughed out loud. I thought I would pass it on:)
