About

My approach to OCD therapy is to ground us firmly in why we're doing what we're doing. Gradual is the name of the game when it comes to mental health, and even more so with exposure work. We'll take the time to understand how OCD is affecting you and come up with salient and specific exposures that can be gradually approached and will make a difference in your life. My other prime area of focus is trauma, which can encompass depression and generalized anxiety.

He was very very personable, helped me to really understand what was going on and that I’m not alone with how I feel. I’m really looking forward to working with him to treat and manage my OCD.

ERP is challenging. No matter the provider. NOCD is worth considering if you’re in network with them or even out of pocket due to lack of OCD specialists. However, it is expense. Like any mental health service, unfortunately. One thing to keep in mind if you’re out of pocket is that if you go above $1500 in billing, they won’t let the therapist schedule new appointment no matter your financial situation. That’s was the big upside for me. Having progress stalled isn’t fun. Other than that NOCD is a great resource if you’re considering ERP treatment.

Matthew conducted it very well, I felt good around him and I thought perhaps at the end we were a bit crunched for time to go through the assessments throughly, he did say we’d touch on it next time so that’s good. Overall, I liked Matthew a lot and look forward to working with him :)
